Starhotels Metropole, Rome

Comfort without compromise

Located in the city center, near the Roma Termini railway station and the Rome Opera House, the Starhotels Metropole, with its evocative blend of comfort and class, shows Rome at its multifaceted best.
The Colosseum, the Fori Imperiali, and the Trevi Fountain are reachable within a 10-minute walk.

  • 236 newly renovated rooms and suites are an oasis of peace and relaxation away from the bustle of the city.
  • The Apicio by Eataly restaurant offers roman cuisine and the best of international dishes.
  • The Bistrot Rendez Vous by Eataly bar is the ideal setting for a coffee, a quick lunch, or a cocktail.
  • 9 meeting rooms, equipped with cutting-edge technology, can host up to 160 people and are ideal venues for business meetings and private events in Rome.

Castelgandolfo Golf Club

A mansion built in the seventeenth century overlooks the crater of an extinct volcano. The residence, originally commissioned by Cardinal Flavio Chigi, is now considered the most charming club house among golf clubs; the crater, thanks to the creative flair of Robert Trent Jones Sr., has been transformed into a challenging golf course, full of intriguing technical features. The naturally laid ground has been endowed with one hundred and one tricks among centenarian olive trees, oaks and cluster pines.

The balcony of the club house offers a fascinating and complete panorama of the course: the 18 holes can be embraced in a single look, giving the feeling of an intimate and evocative atmosphere, while four centuries of history provide protection within the walls of the club house and the seafront shines in the background.

Marco Simone Golf Club - Host of the Ryder Cup 2023 - Celebrate Women's Golf Day

Extraordinarily modeled in the corner of the Roman countryside around the millenary tower of Marco Simone Castle with the view of St. Peter’s Dome and just a few km away from the center of Rome.

Marco Simone has two golf courses: the brand-new Ryder Cup Course, designed to be a real golf stadium that will host the most important Italian golf events in the coming years, and the Resort Course, a shorter and less complex 9-hole course, suitable for less experienced players or for all those who do not have time available.

Circolo del Golf di Roma Aquasanta

Established in 1903 as a 9 holes golf course (became 18 holes in 1913) along Via Appia on the southeast of Rome, and just 3 miles from the Colosseum, Circolo del Golf di Roma Aquasanta is the oldest golf course of the country. The club actually dates back to 1885, founded by a group of British expatriates.

Its location is superb, a parkland layout inspired by the ancient British links which gently follows the undulations of the terrain, surrounded by Mediterranean pines, cypresses, and eucalyptus. This golf course is in excellent shape. Although just 6,429 yds from the pro tees, this par 71has a challenging layout with narrow fairways, well-protected small greens, and several holes are by the River Almone which crosses the course.

From the Old Roman Claudian Aqueduct to the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, from the Roman Castles to St. Peter’s Dome, centuries of history around this magic golf course where time seems to have stopped.

Olgiata Golf Club

Located 15 miles north of Rome along the Via Cassia on the Olgiata quiet residential complex, Olgiata Golf Club is a magnificent classic tree-lined parkland golf course.

Opened in 1961 it features 27 holes (18 holes West Course and 9 holes East Course) designed by English architect C. Kenneth Cotton and restyled by architect Jim Fazio in 1996.

During the years it hosted many important international tournaments including the Eisenhower Trophy in 1964, the World Cup in 1968 and 1984, the European Tour Italian Open in 1973 and 2002 (won by Ian Poulter), and the Challenge Tour Roma Open in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Before 2012 was withdrawn, Rome was a proposed bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics Games, and Olgiata GC was chosen to host the golf tournament.

Cooking Class & Wine Tasting

Italy has a vast and varied culinary heritage, and our local hosts are proud to share its hidden secrets. Share your passion for Italian gastronomy with other lovely guests, immerse yourself in the vibrant local market and enjoy an authentic hands-on cooking class. You’ll visit the local market with your Cesarina host, who will teach you all about how to select the best ingredients with the seasons. Then, you’ll return to their home, warm up with an Italian Aperitivo and enjoy the class. You’ll learn how to make one iconic Pasta type, typical of the city you are visiting, and the famous Tiramisu. After the class, you will enjoy everything you’ve prepared with local wines. This experience is the perfect choice if you want to encounter real Italian regional gastronomy through genuine connections, food, and friendship.

Galleria Colonna Roma

A true jewel of the Roman Baroque, the Galleria Colonna was commissioned in the mid 1600s by Cardinal Girolamo I Colonna and his nephew Lorenzo Onofrio Colonna. It was inaugurated by Lorenzo Onofrio’s son, Philip II, in 1700. The original project was by architect Antonio del Grande, it was then integrated by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Johan Paul Schor and Carlo Fontana in the last decade of the seventeenth century.

From the very beginning, the Gallery was conceived as a huge state room, which was to celebrate the victory of the Christian fleet over the Turks at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. The commander of the papal fleet, Marcantonio II Colonna, is depicted numerous times throughout the vault of the Great Hall of the Gallery and in the Hall of the Battle Column.

Visit of Naples

Naples is the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest city of Italy, after Rome and Milan, with a population of 967,069 within the city’s administrative limits as of 2017. Its province-level municipality is the third-most populous metropolitan city in Italy with a population of 3,115,320 residents, and its metropolitan area stretches beyond the boundaries of the city wall for approximately 20 miles.

Founded by Greeks in the first millennium BC, Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world. In the ninth century BC, a colony known as Parthenope (Ancient Greek: Παρθενόπη) was established on the Island of Megaride. In the 6th century BC, it was refounded as Neápolis. The city was an important part of Magna Graecia, played a major role in the merging of Greek and Roman society, and was a significant cultural centre under the Romans.

Pompeii Excavations

Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors annually.

After many excavations prior to 1960 that had uncovered most of the city but left it in decay, further major excavations were banned, and instead, they were limited to targeted, prioritized areas. In 2018, these led to new discoveries in some previously unexplored areas of the city.
